Anticipation is the best kind of waiting: at no other time of the year do we feel this as clearly as during Advent when the smell of Christmas is in the air, festive lights twinkle, and people think of others.

But in addition to procuring a feeling of sweet longing, waiting for something you have long hoped for can also be a hard test of patience at times. Especially when you don’t know how much longer you have to hold out. We have all become very familiar with this feeling after nearly two years of coronavirus. Our encounters continue to suffer from a lack of freedom and light-heartedness.

We are all the more grateful for the fruitful dialogue as well as the healing initiatives that have nevertheless shaped the joint work and cooperation with our foundation contacts, funding partners and service providers over the past twelve months.

In this spirit, we look forward to continuing our exchanges in 2022, and until then, we wish you a reflective pre-Christmas period, happy holidays and an enjoyable new year!

The Software AG Foundation Executive Board and employees

We hope this perhaps unusual Christmas theme whets your appetite for our upcoming foundation publication, which will be dedicated to the question of what truly nourishes us. In this fifth issue, we will not only explicitly deal with healthy food as well as its origins and effects, but also implicitly with what strengthens the body, soul and spirit. The carrot’s role in this will be revealed in February 2022 at the latest, when the publication will be released in printed form with an accompanying online special. It can already be pre-ordered at info(at)sagst.de.
