“The University of Bern has established a new associate professorship in medicine with a complementary anthroposophic orientation. The position is located at the Institute of Complementary Medicine, a part of the university's medical department. The position is financed by the University of Bern together with partners Weleda AG, the Software AG Foundation, and the Association for the Advancement of Anthroposophic Institutions. Dr. Ursula Wolf was appointed to the new position.”


At the start of October 2014, a support centre for research in organic plant breeding was established at the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL). Creation of the centre was initiated by an action alliance consisting of the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL) in Switzerland and Germany, the Associations for Organic Agriculture in Germany, the Stiftung Mercator Schweiz (Mercator Foundation Switzerland) and the Software AG Foundation.


Mannheim/Alfter, 26. September 2014. In a festive celebration with around 250 invited guests, Alanus University for Arts and Social Sciences opened a new location yesterday in Mannheim. The Institute for Waldorf Education, Interculturalism, and Inclusion at the state-accredited Alanus University will offer bachelor's degree programs in “Waldorf Education” and “Social Care/Special Education” as well as a master's degree program in “Waldorf Education”.


Darmstadt, 7. July 2014. The Board of Trustees of the Software AG Foundation appointed Markus Ziener as a new board member in its session on July 4, 2014. Ziener has been the director of asset management for the foundation since November 15, 2013 and will join the current four-member board starting on August 1, 2014.
