Changes to the SAGST Executive Board

Foundation headquarters

SAGST has reorganised the responsibilities in its Executive Board due to the departure of Achim Grenz, who has been in charge of IT and project management for the last ? years and will now be taking his well-earned partial retirement on 1 July. After a total of 25 years of service to people and society, the 68-year-old will no longer help manage the foundation; however, he will remain with it as project manager for special funding projects. Grenz intends to take on this new role after a long summer break and will return to Eichwäldchen on 1 October.

He had already handed over his project management responsibilities at the beginning of 2023 – initially on an interim basis – to the Chief Communications Officer, Peter Augustin, who has been a member of the Executive Board since 2019 and has also been responsible for Human Resources and Central Internal Services since that time. David Preuß, who was appointed in mid-January 2024 as Achim Grenz’s successor for his second point of focus due to his IT expertise, took over both responsibilities at the turn of the year. According to his predecessor, Preuß – the former Chief Information Officer at Cologne/Bonn Airport and Chief Operations Officer at a large information technology service provider – is experienced in supporting growing companies in the optimisation of processes and will therefore also be able to ensure smooth processes at SAGST and contribute to its overall further development at all levels. The SAGST Board of Trustees also expressed its confidence and officially approved Preuß’s appointment to the Executive Board on 25 June.
