Since 2001, the Federal Ministry for Food and Agriculture has annually recognized three agricultural companies for implementing successful new ideas and contributing to the future of organic agriculture.

In 2018, one of the farms selected by the jury was Dottenfelderhof Farm in Bad Vilbel, Germany. The farm was awarded a federal prize for, among other reasons, the agricultural community's significant work breeding biodynamic plant varieties. The award, which includes a cash prize of 7,500 euros, represents a renewed recognition of the farm's concept: for over 40 years, the farm has had a unique way of combining agricultural research and praxis, education, and training as well as processing and marketing. Dottenfelderhof received its first award from the Federal Ministry for Food and Agriculture in 2002; at that time, the prize was called the Development Grant for Organic Agriculture.

Even back then, the Software AG Foundation (SAGST) was supporting the agricultural school as well as the farm's research and breeding activities. The Darmstadt-based foundation enjoys a long-lasting partnership with Dottenfelderhof, dating from even before SAGST was founded, owing to the personal commitment of the foundation's founder, Dr. h. c. Peter Schnell, to the farm.

We offer the two-time prize winner our heartfelt congratulations. We are very pleased to be able to support the exemplary ideas and impulses of the "Dotti" farm and its breeding work.
